I am not sure when korean government had criminalized weed, but i firmly believe that citizen of korean rep. should act for legalizing merijuana.
I believe major factor that contributes to illegalization of weed is due to korean people's aspect, which government have enforced. When i met people online via randomchatting websites, I often encounter people who demand that weed is bad, because it is "harmful" and makes your mind go crazy. However this is a common misconception. When one smokes weed, it is actually much safer and healthier than smoking cigarette (https://patients4medicalmarijuana.wordpress.com/marijuana-info/marijuana-vs-cigarettes/). If koreans actually studies and looks deeply on effects of weed, i believe they would find more beneficial facts than harmful effects that brings to ones body, thus changing their mind sets.
sources that shows weed is helpful to the society.

Yes, there are many studies that medical pots can be beneficial to some previously incurable diseases. But is it harmless? No. Can people be addicted to it? Yes. Therefore, for ordinary people who is all healthy like me, marijuana isn't exactly beneficial. Health hazards do exist.
When it comes to restricted legalization, only legalizing it for selected few who desperately need them I'm all up for it. But fully legalizing? There is just no point in my opinion.

Demanding that weed be legalized simply because cigarettes are comparatively more harmful is a faulty logic. Cigarette's relative harmfulness has no relationship whatsoever with the possibly hazardous effects of weed on society as a whole. If smoking pot is dangerous, regardless of its relationship with tobacco, government should, by all rights, consider measures to prevent weed from harming the entire nation.(similar to 'tu quoque')
Also, legalizing a proven 'street drug' is not just about freedom of purchase or whatever. This may lead to numerous chain reactions which need to be seriously pored over by professionals. Legalizing weed is the sort of decision that can radically change the nation. Just because it seems to have some'benefits' doesn't mean that hasty legalization is therefore justifiable.
This is if you're talking about freeing marijuana purchase entirely.
You did not, however, clarify whether your definition of 'legalizing weed' is restricted to medical applications or controlled recreational uses. Might be you're suggesting we legalize weed entirely so that anyone can purchase weed right off the counter, much like candies and sweets, or you're suggesting some more controlled sales. So it's sort of difficult to properly rebut to your arguments.
Now, if you're talking about medical purposes, sure, it seems reasonable.
