제목: Debating Climate Change: The Global Youth Panel
Hello!
As we all know climate change is an issue that is affecting every country throughout the world, and with the upcoming United Nations Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen, at Debatewise we thought this would be a great opportunity for debate and discussion around the whole event and the issues that arise from it.
The Global Youth Panel, or GYP as we affectionately call it, will be a panel of 1000+ young people from over 120 different countries across the world. We’ll ask this panel to debate issues which arise from the conference; some people will create the debates, others will vote on them. The idea is to get a measure of what young people think of what’s happening in Copenhagen.
After the conference we'll divide the panel into their respective countries and will ask them to debate how they will be impacted by the decisions made there. Brazil, for example, could make its case against deforestation restrictions whilst the rest of the world argues they should suffer for the greater good. This takes what happened in Copenhagen, makes it personal, real and local and gives it a context we believe no-one else is providing.
Although we now have all the panelists we can possibly manage, any help or support you may be able to give shall be very much appreciated; be it by telling us issues that are going on that you believe should be debated, or just by merely spreading the word about what we believe is a very exciting and innovative project.
