No one can deny the fact that private entertainment and business engagements in Korea revolve around drinking with friends, co-workers, or family. This is especially true in the months of December and January because of the holidays. If you walk down a non-residential district in Korea, you can see a number of bars and clubs. It shows you the extent of how engrossed alcohol is in Korean culture. Statistics show that alcoholcan lead to violence. Therefore we can assume that these districts are high In crime. Prohibition of alcohol in America in the early 1900s proved that Just prohibiting alcohol doesn't work. So, what can society do about increasing risks that alcohol causes? Alcohol also leads to addiction and irresponsibility, not to mention drunk driving.
