2006-2007 Debate Topic: National Service
As you are probably aware, the National Federation of State High School Associations announced the 2006-2007 national high school debate topic. The new topic is, "Resolved: The United States federal government should establish a comprehensive program of mandatory national service by United States citizens." A new thread has been added to our Debater's Forum so you can share your ideas. Visit http://www.debate-central.org/ubbthreads.

NCPA's Debate Central staff is already developing content for the new topic; we will roll out our new webpage later this spring. We will keep you up-to-date on our progress.

In the meantime, you can still get information about the current topic (Civil Liberties vs. National Security) at www.debate-central.org, as well as find the latest news on U.S. treatment of detainees in the War on Terror, NSA wiretapping and the debate over presidential powers during wartime.
