The Time magazine story revealing that Mother Teresa was unable, despite her faith and decades of good works, to sense any presence of God in her life is causing quite a stir.
Christopher Hitchens, celebrity atheist, says it came as no surprise to him. He tells David Van Biema, author of the Mother Teresa story:
"She was no more exempt from the realization that religion is a human fabrication than any other person, and that her attempted cure was more and more professions of faith could only have deepened the pit that she had dug for herself."
Douglas LeBlanc of GetReligion.org says of Van Biema's story:
"If you don’t subscribe to Time, buy this week’s issue. Then read, mark, learn and inwardly digest."
